I was looking to look at new opportunities, however, had not updated my CV for 6.5 years so really didn't know where to start. I wanted to have a CV that will impress especially at the high level of placement that I was looking to move into. I started to write down all the information in my career which resulted in a 6 page CV, I knew this wasn't going to work and reading through it the layout and format was all wrong. I contacted CV Assist with a copy of my CV and had a short conversation about my working career and what followed was a clear and concise 3 page CV, it was fantastic and what was even better it flowed from highlighting my achievements to the qualifications I had gained. I submitted the CV to recruiters which had helped me secure many interviews. I was in a position that I needed to decide what role I wanted to pursue. I wanted to say thank you to CV Assist for your advice and guidance on the application and interview process as I feel this really helped to secure my new role. I would recommend anyone regardless of what point they are in their career to speak to CV Assist for guidance and to have their CV at the very least reviewed.

I was applying for roles well within my skill set but just not getting to interview and getting frustrated with recruiters. I had to do something to move to my next role so I sought advice from CV Assist who made me realize my skills and experience were just not coming across on my resume. I wish I’d come to CV Assist and asked recruiters earlier why I was not getting shortlisted and what I was lacking as to not even get an interview started to play on my confidence after applying for over 20 roles. I also realized I had to work on my personal branding to ensure my next application was laser focused on the role I was applying for. I stopped talking about me and started to focus more on what I could bring to the company and the role to see them successful as an organization. After 4 months of applying with no success, my new resume, cover letter and linked in profile brought me 2 great interviews in 3 weeks!

I was on maternity leave and had been working for my company for 8 years prior to this and thought I had some time to really focus on looking for my next step in my career. I found 2 jobs I was literally dancing over. I knew I had the experience but wanted to ensure this was the right move as I had a new baby to consider and also was I really the person they were looking for. I contacted CV Assist and had a call with them to discuss my situation and the roles. During the call we discussed work, life balance and what I wanted first in my personal life. It made me think about what it would really be like if I moved to a new company with all the other changes happening as a new mum. I decided one of the roles was a potential future opportunity when my little girl was older as I did not want work to be driving me, I had to be home to collect my bub from day care, therefore only one of the roles were suitable. CV Assist researched the company and other people that worked there on LinkedIn to give me a better feel for them which just made me more excited to apply like NOW! CV Assist did my resume and Cover Letter and also a LinkedIn profile and suggested a get a nice photo. I got that interview, however I did not get the role, bummer! But guess what! 2 months later I got an email on that LinkedIn mail and was offered a job closer to my home and with 8-4pm working hours! Winner!
